Repair Patches

If you've got holes or two in your gear, consider adding some adhesive patches to your rep kit. These patches are made of high-performance adhesive that has been applied to a durable polyurethane backing that allows a tear to heal under pressure. Available in clear or colored versions, these patches provide durability against punctures, moisture, saltwater, sunlight and temperatures that are extreme.

If your kit isn't stocked with any of the above items, consider including a bag of waterproof Aquaseal wader repair sealant. This water-tight glue can be applied to plastics, fabrics, metals, and more for an unbreakable fix. It's ideal for repairs to drysuits and can be applied in the field. It can take up to 12 hours for it to cure before you can use the repaired equipment.

Adhesive Patches

If you're out on the trail but don't have time for an entire vulcanising repair the patches that are self-adhesive will get you back in the saddle with no hassle. Apply the self-adhesive patch then apply it by rolling it around.

Clean the punctured area thoroughly, then apply the tube-scuffer or sandpaper to roughen the surface which makes it easier for glue to stick. Spread a thin layer on the patch. Cover the area with a layer that is at a minimum large as the patch. The glue should become tacky, then press the patch down firmly and secure it.
